Challenge....#9

Ok, So, one more day until my birthday! Feeling So- So right now. Got a Flu mist yesterday & woke w/ a headache this morning. We're taking JStarr to her grandparents to spend the night & Hubby & I will get started on the BDay celebration.

Ok, So, after dropping JStarr off @ GParents- we went & had a nice lunch at Grand China restuarant in B'head { I received a Bday certificate from them}, then retreated home to relax a little { I still hadn't shook that headache}. Later, Hubby & I went to the movies & he made dinner for me: shrimp w/ asaparagus over penne with a vodka sauce. It was totally delicious~ I LOVE it when he cooks for me! So our BDay date nght was a great success~ we shared a bottle of bubbly & just enjoyed the evening ;>

The Challenge continues....

Ok, So, I was trying to post last night- but the darn internet was not cooperating! So anyway I wanted to say that I LOVE my President!!!! As I watched the SOTU last night I felt confident that we as a country will work through the negativity & come out on the positive side. I was hoping that he would remind us all of his acceptance speech from November 2008: where he said that the work ahead of us is hard & we won't get through it overnight- but we must work together- that he can't do it alone. I will not accept second place for America! We won't quit! I won't quit! I'm ready to fight even harder for the working & middle class.

Challenges...Challenges....

Ok, So I was just too tired to do my post last night. For some reason I was tired all day yesterday- so much so that I even dosed off for a half an hour yesterday afternoon- while JStarr played around me. So after dinner, bath & bed- I just didn;t have enough energy to compose a post. I was planning to write about the book that I started reading- that I got from my FathernLaw this past weekend. As I am still reading it- I was reminded of my post on abundance, especially after being blessed with unexpected extra money this weekend. This happened AFTER I was consciously practicing my "Abundance Meditation", which is what I call my daily positive thinking/affirmations concerning all areas of my life- including the finances.
I say that I was consciously doing it -'cause I was constantly stating the affirmation over & over in my mind and aloud- Especially when I would start to worry about paying this or that bill. So with that said, they are working!
OH! I also have been putting into practice the "Mind Convos" that my SoulBro taught me a few weeks back. I've been having this convo via my mind with one of the employer that I currently work with- get the information & money together, so that I can do the work that he needs done. So anyway, I recieved an email from him yesterday stating that he would be sending me the case info & payment in a couple days. I'll continue to have the mind convos with him until I receive this. Since SoulBro told me about this & the success he had- I put it into practice & this too has been working for me with much success. It is a simple practice- it's just like having a converstaion in person- with appropriate pauses for other persons the response and all. This has been really working for me, I've used it with Hubby, an employer last month & one of my sisnlaw.
Well, I think that I've covered alot & this will count aas two posts { unless I have something else to wrtite about later this evening.

The Challenge Continues!

Ok, So, yesterday I missed yet another post ;(- I told you this was a challenge for me! Anyway We went to my BroBro's house for crab legs & merriment. I had a good time hanging out w/ him & his girlfriend { I'll call her futuresisnlaw ;>} . They had Christmas gifts for us- which was extremely generous of them. I will treat myself to a StarBucks this week courtesy of them ;>
Soooo by the time we got home it was time to get JStarr ready for bed & return a call to DramaGirl {more about her later}, then I relaxed with Hubby watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 1 on dvd. That show is SOOOOO Hilarious!!!! We were cracking up for I don't know how many hours! So I had a pretty Awesome day yesterday - even with the calls from DramaGirl.
DramaGirl is my oldest friend- we've been friends since we met in fifth grade, and I call her DramaGirl- cause she is just that full of Drama!!! So she is caught up in this new guy & she is stressing over the fact that they haven't talked/texted every hour of every day since they had the hotel hookup the prior weekend. Do you see what I'm talking about when I say that she is full of DRAMA. The Chick is roughly a few months younger than me- but she is stuck on highschoolteendramastuff. So in one of her phone calls yesterday she told me about why her last relationship finally ended for good & all this other drama the dude's female family memebers & her. DramaGirl had the nerve to say that the dude's momma/auntie/whatever was acting like a child! Mind you, DramaGirl is doing the same thing that she accussed this woman of doing! So anyway I had to pull her card on that one & she did not like that- but I had too- it was too ridiculous!
I am starting a new challenge this week, that will be alot easier then the one post a day challenge- cause this one takes place
in the bedroom!

2 posts behind....

Ok, So.... I am two posts behind on my 10 posts in 10 days challenge. I knew that this would be a challenge- but I have every intention of completing the challenge, and along comes life! J Starr is teething again, and so she { and subsequently I, } have gotten very little sleep the past two nights, and of course she ( and subsequently I ) have had some not so good days. My little one with her growing pains and Mommy with hers. Anyway, I forgot to do Thursday's post & then I was too tired to do one last night.
So today I am making up for the missed posts by making an outstanding 3 in one post!

Today's Post: I received my NEW glasses in the mail today!! I found this website: zennioptical.com via an article on realsimple.com about saving money; and I ordered a CUTE pair of glasses for a total of $12.95 (including shipping)!! they arrived today just under two week time frame and they look really cute on Moi,especially with my curls! The frame is black plastic w/ clear red accents at the temple. Even Hubby gave rave reviews & alot of compliments~ so much so that he's going to order himself a pair next week. I will definitely order another pair in a different style & color- U just can't beat that price!
Speaking of my curls~ I'm in LOVE with Cantu leave in Shea butter conditioner! It defines my curls while providing a soft hold and a shine that lasts for days at a time. IMy Hair & I just LOVE IT!!!

Friday's post: Ok, So, Friday was spent at the Inlaws house, and I bought the "Mocha Mom's Guide to a Fabulous Pregnancy" with me to give to my SisnLaw who lives just minutes away. This book was a good & easy read for me while I was pregnant. It gives perspectives on various topics of pregnancy & life as a pregnant mocha mom ;>
So we are talking and she says to me: " I just can't believe that I'm Pregnant". So she is in a Shock phase, which I guess you get that when you are not actively trying to get pregnant. Unlike Hubby & I- as we were both mentally ready & financially ready to have a child, so we were actively trying, and it took about 3 months for Us to get the YES. Now we are mentally ready for baby #2- but still working on being financially ready. I'm a firm believer that things happen when they are supposed to, which I said to SisnLaw- it's all about the timing~ the time is now for you to be pregnant. So I know that she is excited & I can tell that her Hubby would like to have a little girl. It would be nice for Janelle to have a little girl cousin to play with over the years ;>. But I think that it will be a boy. Now that I've said it & written it She will probably have a Girl! Etiher way a Healthy Baby and Everyone will be happy!

Thursday's Post: Ok, So, I can't remember what I was going to write about on Thursday, so I'll go with this: I am Blessed with Abundance. Recently [as in all this week] I've been trying to think abundantly, not only for myself but also for those around me & those that I don't even know to be full of abundance & knowing that all is well. This has really helped me in these times of financial shortages, and I know that we all are blessed with abundance ~ but we must choose to see it.

The 10 day challenge!

Ok, so today is January 20, which means that it is 10 days until my Birthday {YEAH!}, and I am challenging myself to post something everyday until January 30! As anyone who has stopped here can see, I do not post on a regular basis, so this will be a big challenge for me. So the first 20 days of this New Decade have been very thought provoking, So many things have happened: My sisnlaw & her hubby are expecting their first child! { Hubby & I already have a nickname for the baby: "Nugget"
; > }, my SoulBro has had at least two mental breakdowns {thankfully he has not wound up in the asylum}, JStarr is becoming her own person {stating her opinions on Everything!}, The financial situation is steadily improving {I remain Optimistic on all counts!} MyBroBro invited me over for crab legs! {totally unexpected I feel so loved right now;>}.

HAPPY NEW DECADE!

Ok, So 2009 is O-V-E-R and I must say that I'm more than HAPPY, I'm Overjoyed! 2009 was a very hard year- it was filled with more stressors than a little. December went by so Fast! JStarr & I arrived back in the Atl on December 1st & the next thing I knew it was Christmas! This Christmas was the first Christmas that JStarr was really "aware" of it. She loved seeing the lights at night & pointing out every Christmas tree that she saw, She also took notice of Santa Claus. We've decided that we will also Celebrate Kwaanza this year along with Christmas, so we can all learn & live the principles.
So 2009 was eventful, historical & troublesome on so many levels- but atleast it ended on a high note for us. JStarr really enjoyed her Christmas- we started our tradition of making cookies to give away { though I probably ate more than I gave away ;>} - we put lights up, and she got to open lots of presents {Thanks to Grammy & Aunties mailing her gifts on time}, the three of us spent Christmas day together & I got it on video.
2010 has begun with a Great start. Rent was paid on time {yeah no late fees this month!}, we have ample food, Hubby's job prospect is VERY positive, and I'm on target to earn some money doing a few more cases this month. So I am Extremely optimistic about this new Decade, with it's very positive start!
Happy New Decade!!
